Why your keywords don't work.
Two main reasons.
The guru's advice is wrong.
All the keyword tools use the same source, which is inaccurate.
Almost without fail, any guru who talks about finding good keywords will show you an image showing their page or video in the top 4 search results for their keyword out of hundreds of thousands of results.
This is misleading at best and downright fraud at worst.
Would it surprise you to know that there are usually fewer than 1,000 pages for any keyword you can think of?
Try this for yourself.
I just did a Google search for ChatGPT.
Initially, Google said there were "About 774,000,000 results (0.48 seconds)".
Then I clicked on the biggest number at the bottom of the page.
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Next,
and kept doing that until I got to page 16, "Page 16 of 160 results (0.98 seconds)".
With all the hype about CgatGPT, there are only 160 pages Google think are worth listing.
At the bottom of the page is this text.
In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 160 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included.
So I did that and got "Page 41 of about 401 results (2.26 seconds)".
All of those omitted results are what's known as the supplementary index, and there are still only 401 results.
Now you know how to really check the number of competitors there are for any keyword, you should have a better idea of what keywords you can target.
But none of that tells you the strength of those competitors. For that, you need a helpful tool.
I find that the SEOQuake plugin works pretty well.
You're looking for the strength of the pages on page 1 of the SERPs.
If you have many authority sites or pages with a solid backlink count, you're unlikely to get anywhere with that keyword.
If only a few of the pages listed have strength, then you're good to go.
Once you have one or two pages ranking well, the other pages on your site will also improve their ranking.
This is where internal linking helps.
But you'll need external links to get on the first page of Google regardless of the great keyword you've found.
This tool will get you excellent backlinks and human visitors to any page you like, with only about 10-20 minutes of simple daily work.
I've been testing this for a while, and it really does work.
Since using this, my subscribers to the main site have grown to over 400.
Meaning that 400+ people get notified of every post I make.
Since visitors are also a ranking signal, that has to help.
Regards,
Brent.
