Why you should target long-tail keywords.
While almost every article on getting traffic talks about targetting long-tail keywords, most don't explain why.
Here are two reasons.
There is very little competition if you choose well.
There can be a substantial search volume for these keywords.
Here is a simple example.
Let's assume you want to sell some new-age product as an affiliate.
You want to run low-cost ads on Google, Bing, or Facebook.
After hunting around on your favourite keyword tool, you find this - how to astral project.
This is a rough match for the target prospect's interest in things new-age.
Analysing the data, you get these metrics.
Monthly search - 8,700 in the USA.
Global search - 12,000.
Expected traffic - 5,800.
It's not huge, but you can write this post with an A.I. tool.
You can also expect this to rank pretty quickly because I've checked Google search using the Ubersuggest plugin and found that only 2 of the top 10 pages have more than 100 links.
The #1 page has three backinks, which means the content is pretty good.
If you take that page and rewrite it using an A.I. tool, run it through Grammarly to tidy it up and check for plagiarism, you can make sure it's similar but not the same.
After the Google dance, the page should rank pretty well.
That's one page for the blog.
Repeating the process for another 10-20 long-tail keywords will give you a reasonably solid site that should get good targeted traffic for years.
While you're waiting for Google to settle, you can add a few more pages and turn some summaries into YouTube shorts using Pictory or another video creation tool.
You can do other things quickly to get free traffic, but when you target a keyword like this with simple ads and point the clicks to a page such as this, conversions should be pretty good.
Simple research.
Simple pages.
Simple ads.
Simple sales.
What's not to like?

Brent.
P.S. Write your post with this tool.
It's the best one I've found for longer posts.
