Why reviewing goals is necessary.
The thing about goals is that sometimes your desires change.
When that happens, your goals may no longer take you where you want to go.
So you should dump them and set new ones.
The goals I'm talking about here are the outcome goals.
The big overriding thing you want to achieve.
Quitting the 9-5.
Losing or gaining weight.
Gaining fitness.
Anything else that is an end point to your activities.
Sometimes, on review, those big goals remain, but the activity goals to get you there have to change.
Since my bicycle accident in August and my return to cycling, my wife has insisted that I must not ride alone.
This may or may not be a permanent condition, but to keep her happier I will comply.
However, my riding buddy can't ride the three days a week that I want to ride, so I needed to find an alternative exercise for the days he can't ride with me.
I have taken up swimming to fill that gap.
I still exercise three days a week, but it's now a mix of cycling and swimming.
I'm swimming laps and have set a target of swimming 2 km by the end of December.
I'm currently at 1.3 km and will easily hit that target, so I might need to push it out a bit more.
The goal, losing weight and getting fitter, hasn't changed.
The path to the goal has.
I'm using the same process that I wrote about here.

This has been a paid product before, but it's coming up to Christmas, and I'm feeling good about today's swim, so I decided to celebrate a little.
