This is not the way to advertise.
You have seen many ads on T.V. that look great, they're catchy or funny, and you are happy to see them repeatedly.
They often only have one problem.
You have no idea what they are actually promoting.
Sometimes you have no idea who the company is either.
After watching them several times, you may figure out the answers to those questions, but you may not.
It reminds me of a story I read about an advertising campaign for a fast food place, called The Fryer, that was near an airport.
The owner paid good money to an agency to promote his shop.
The agency won awards for the campaign.
The slogan was 'Out of the flying plane and into The Fryer'.
According to the owner, it didn't bring in any more business than if he hadn't run the campaign.
All advertising agencies should only get paid a percentage of the increased profit for the client.
They might stop running dumb promotions.
There are lessons here for you.
Split test everything you do.
Clever slogans or writing has no place in an advertising campaign.
Make what you write clear, easy to understand and to the point.
Not something that I always manage to do.
Regards,
Brent.
