Writing by pants or structure, what works best?
The answer to that perennial question is it depends.
It depends on what type of writing you are doing and who the intended audience is.
When you write an email to your friend, do you research, create a framework, and then write your email out 4 or 5 times to get the wording exactly right?
Of course not.
You write it out and tell them what you think they need to know or answer their question.
The same technique can work for short blog posts, but you'll be better off planning it a little better with a longer one.
When you write a book, though, writing by the seat of your pants will not work as well.
In that situation, you'll need to either know your subject exceptionally well or do sufficient research that you can write factually.
You'll also need to, at a minimum, break the subject down into chapters, so you don't leave out something important.
The other time that structure is essential is for your sales pages or sales scripts.
Without structure here, your presentation will not have the impact you want.

P.S. If you're anything like me, you don't like paying for things if there is a free alternative.
Sometimes, though, there are good reasons to pay for a great product, and in those situations, it's better to get a lifetime deal rather than paying monthly.
You can stop paying monthly for software by using AppSumo and getting the best deals on tools to help you and your business grow.
Here's $10 to get started.
