Prejudice is a two-edged sword.
"Prejudice is a great time saver. You can form opinions without having to get the facts." - Elwyn Brooks White, Born Jul. 11, 1899.
I recently listened to a radio discussion between the host and an LGBTIQ+ activist about a complaint to a local council.
The complaint concerned the flying of the rainbow flag well past Pride Week.
The guest thought that the complainant was wrong to voice his views and should change them.
He accused that person of not accepting other lifestyles and was therefore discriminatory.
He explained that the rainbow flag was a flag of accepting diverse lifestyles.
That made me snort water through my nose as I laughed.
If that were 100% true, then the complainant's views should also have been accepted because they were also a different, admittedly mainstream, lifestyle to theirs.
But they are not, are they?
Not at all.
The views of the minority seem to be touted as the majority view when they are not.
True diversity must include the Heterosexual community as well as the alternative communities.
Their prejudice is exposed for all to see, but few will recognise it as blatant bias or the hypocrisy it is.
How does this revelation impact your marketing?
When you see that some people have a prejudged opinion on any subject, you can use that to sway them towards your product.
It's a big lever and easily swung because, as the man says above, their prejudice reduces what you must convince them of.
All you need to do is show how your product covers their bases.
Regards,
Brent.
P.S. Some of you think that getting traffic is hard.
It can be, if you do it wrong.
The problem is that you are constantly looking for external traffic.
Traffic that you don't control.
Trying to pluck traffic from Facebook, Google, Bing, YouTube, etc., is hard.
Their rules make it hard because they want your money, not your success.
But when you have on-tap traffic that you control, life is so much easier.
That on-tap traffic is your email list.
Yeah, you knew I was going there, didn't you.
It's true though.
When you have an engaged email list, traffic is as simple as writing and sending an email.
