More ways to get content to inspire or reuse.
You may remember when RSS was all the rage and perhaps wonder where it has all gone.
I can tell you that RSS is still a viable tool in your armoury, but not the way we used to think it was.
Initially, the power marketers used RSS to spread their links around for the SEO benefit.
Since most RSS aggregator sites were free to use, this worked a treat until the aggregators decided they were not getting enough benefit and began charging for "express approval".
This really meant that if you didn't pay them, your feed would never show up on their list.
Extortion at its finest.
Today though, you can use the RSS feeds for the purpose they were created.
It's as fast as Google alerts for notifying you of new content posted on the sites you are following.
You can then take that content, leave a thoughtful comment on any site that allows it, use the ideas in their article for your post, or you can curate their article on your site.
Today I discovered that I could use Zapier to create an RSS feed link to Feedly.
Feedly is a free online RSS reader site that I can use to discover places with feeds based on keywords or niches.
When I connect the Zapier RSS feed link to BlogRiffer, I now have Feedly data in a place that I can quickly curate it and post it to my blogs or Tweet about it.
If I can get an RSS feed from Google alerts, I'll have so much current content to work with that I'll keep several blogs current and post every day.
When I grab the links from the reports, I can use the Daily Tasks tool to build links to those new posts.
You can do the same as easily as I can, and it's mostly free to do.
Regards,
Brent.
P.S. The places I mentioned in the above text are
https://go.wm-tips.com/riffer (this is not a free tool, but it is inexpensive).
I don't think I can get the Google alerts as an RSS feed, so that may have to go into the Daily Tasks tool as one of the places I visit each day.
