The wind was so strong I was almost riding backwards.
At least, that's how it felt.
Weather permitting, basically meaning no rain, I like to ride my bicycle over a course that takes a few hours to complete.
One of my old work friends rides with me twice a week, and I'm on my own the other day.
The round trip is just over 51km which means that I ride 150km per week most weeks.
Today it was both of us, and it was windy.
Wind always adds another degree or two to the uphill sections, but today we also had to pedal downhill.
Except for one bit where the wind gusted as we were reaching the top of a hill quite slowly.
That damned gust hid so hard that it felt like were had lost all forward motion and were going downhill backwards.
No one crashed, and we recorded no injuries, but it was a hard ride for a couple of old blokes.
Riding a bike is part of my getting fit and losing weight in 2021.
It's working well, despite the crash early in the year, which set me back for a few months.
My weight target is sub 80kg, and I'm currently hovering around 84kg.
You can do what I'm doing.
I've reduced my food intake without bothering too much about what I eat, just less of it.
Getting regular exercise helps burn those extra handles off.

Follow your schedule.
The thing is that you have to ignore tracking the results of your activity until you are getting some results.
I didn't start weighing myself until I had to shorten my belt.
It's the same process with any goal you can dream up.
Start with the goal, then work out what you have to do daily or weekly to get there, and do it.
Some days will be harder than others.
No matter, keep doing, you'll get better.
Anyone can do this, but no one can do it for you.
