Why you must use the Internet correctly, and how to do it.
There's a great article on this subject here.
https://whitehatcrew.com/blog/how-to-connect-with-other-bloggers/.
It's an old one, written originally in 2011 or thereabouts, but it still holds true on today's Internet.
The post's bottom line is that your preferred visitors will not find a blog with no links.
The place to get customers from is the place that they already hang out.
Sometimes that's on another person's blog who writes in the same or a similar niche to you.
Commenting on their latest post is an excellent way to get a link to your site that some of their visitors will follow.
But, your comment has to be relevant and valuable for the blog owner, or they'll dump your comment or delete the link.
Sometimes a better way is to use the pingback function of WordPress and comment about their post on your blog with a link to the source.
This is called curating or riffing.
You can use the Daily Tasks tool to help you in this activity.
The tool holds the links to the sites you want to visit each day.
Those sites can be places you want to leave a snippet of your content with a link to the source.
Some of those sites could be blogs you want to follow where you can leave a comment or use their latest post as a talking point on your blog.
The best way to use the Daily Tasks tool is to open it every day, before you check your emails, before you check Facebook, before you check your stats, and before you write your email for your subscribers.
Do the five or so tasks you set yourself, and then get on with the rest of your routine.
Why five?
In management and sales training, it's thought that most people can't handle more than five ± two things at a time.
You can set up as many as you like, but if you have too many tasks to do at a time, you probably won't keep the activity going.

P.S. If you want your site, blog or not, to stand out on the Internet, you will need to have many backlinks.
Pay no attention to Google's B.S. about how all you need is good content.
Even they couldn't find it if there is no link to it from somewhere.
In any case, no one thinks the same as the Google bot, so why should they be the judge of the value of your content?
No, your visitors will do that by leaving comments, coming back, bookmarking your pages etc.
Did I hear you mention paid traffic?
Buying visitors is indeed a good way of getting people to your site.
You'll still need to provide a link for them to follow, and your content does need to give them something of value, or you won't get any reaction from them other than to leave.
