It seems that through a combination of Covid, vaccine reluctance, and the last few years of being shut down, many people are not returning to work or cannot work.
The upshot of this is that many businesses are struggling to get workers.
The cafe that our youngest son works in recently advertised for a chef.
They had no applications.
That has never happened to them before, and hospitality is one of those industries with a high staff turnover.
Some other local businesses have closed their doors some days because they can no longer get enough staff to operate seven days a week.
Anyway, I know that lots of people would rather work for themselves in a business that they control, rather than for a boss that tells them when they can get a raise, when they can go on holiday or when they can go to the bathroom, etc.
So, many millions of people are trying to learn how to succeed online what most of you already know.
That means the competition is getting stiffer, and you need to stay ahead of the crowd.
As yesterday's poem said, and in between on the misty flats,
The rest drift to and fro.
But they won't stay there.
Some of them will find the highway.
Even if you are on the road to success, you'll get run over if you only stand there.
Regards,
Brent.
P.S. Today I spent way too long on a resource that I knew about but hadn't really explored before.
The site is https://archive.org, and they have millions of items stored there.
I was looking for music for a product I'm creating.
It has to be copyright free and in the public domain.
Fortunately, there is heaps of that.
In addition, there are books, videos and pictures.
So much content waiting to be exploited.
Not everything is in the public domain, so you have to be cautious about using it.
But, it's such a treasure trove of content and niche ideas that I got quite distracted from why I was there.
A warning, though, there is also a bit of soft porn and sex manuals, so if you are easily offended, you might like to be a bit cautious.
For some of you, that might be an attraction, no judgement.
