Back in the day, I thought that I needed to have a polished, complete and concise product before offering it to the market.
This attitude meant that I would slave away over the project for months before writing the sales letter and putting it out there.
It also usually meant that I made very few sales.
It took a long time before I realised that I had it all back asswards.
What I really needed to do was hang out in the same places my target market did, whatever niche I was working in, and listen to them talk about what bugged them.
Then I could research the problem and produce a minimum viable product to solve what bugged them.
One problem, one solution.
That's all it takes.
Yes, you can search for an answer to their problem and then sell it to them.
The reason they keep having the same problem over and over is that they don't search properly.
The answer is somewhere on the Internet.
All you have to do is find it, write it up and sell it.
You might like to polish it up later, or not.
Write an advanced version and sell it to the same people.
Too easy?
Try it and find out for yourself.
Regards,
Brent.
P.S. If your solution is really, really simple, you can give it away in exchange for an email address.
Put something behind that freebie that is for sale, affiliate offer, another of your products, something.
You might as well find out if the freebie seekers will also pay for something while you have their attention.
It does need to be relevant to the freebie, something that expands or enhances the freebie somehow.
Like the Daily Task tool I've been talking about recently, the zip file comes with the tool and around 200 sites to put your links.
The first OTO is another 1,000+ sites to get links from, and the second OTO is another tool that automates link building on even more places.
The freebie is a valuable thing when you use it.
Having even more places to build links and automating the building of links enhances the original tool.
