Another good product bites the dust.
I've been using Evernote for years, but no more.
I've only ever had a free account because I really didn't use many of the features, and I didn't need the ones in the paid versions.
But it has been sold, and the new owners want to make a bucket load of cash with it.
That seems to be a theme with many of the existing free tools and quite a few paid ones.
Once the "Venture Capitalists" buy them out, they screw up the business plan that was working and try to maximise their profits.
So, I'm on the hunt for another tool similar to Evernote.
The two main things I would like to have are the ability to import my existing notebooks and share notes with people.
If you know of one, please let me know.
I am testing Notion, the Apple Notes app, ClickUp, Capacities, and Joplin.
The notes app and Joplin are the only ones that import well so far.
What do you use?
Regards,
Brent.
P.S. All this activity proves is that the Internet is a dynamic place, and we all need to keep aware of the changes.
This can be extremely difficult to manage, but therein lies an opportunity.
Anyone, you included, can focus on one part of the Internet and build a newsletter that keeps your subscribers current with changes in their niche.
All you need are Google alerts to keep you informed of changes, an autoresponder that will permit broadcasts, and a place to put a sales page.
This could easily be a weekly email summarising the week's news, although some niches may require an email more regularly.
Here are two places where you can set all that up for free.
