Another good plugin bites the dust.
Yesterday I told you about my latest hacked website.
The issue was not with the plugin in question but the platform the developer used to market it.
Freemius is a marketing platform for software that helps with license protection.
Unfortunately, they have a vulnerability that allows hackers to breach code using the platform.
The plugin I was using, ClickerVolt, had a bit of a troubled history when the developer died, and his family didn't want to take on the job.
The main programmer had to get a job in the interim, but the plugin finally came back to life.
I think it's gone forever now, which is a crying shame because it was a great little link tracker with some unique features.
Anyway, the site is now clean, and the plugin has been removed.
That is the reason that I'm thinking of leaving the WordPress environment.
Hackers globally keep testing and probing for openings.
No programmer writes flawless code, not even the A.I. tools.
That's why there is a process called debugging and why all software companies send out updates.
The best way to avoid being hacked is to avoid having anything to do with the Internet.
The next best way is to keep a very low profile.
Neither of those things is conducive to making money.
That limits your options to doing the best you can to protect yourself and your online assets.
I listed what I think is the best you can do in my previous email.
The password trick is the best I have seen and enables you to create passwords you can remember.
Stay safe.
Regards,
Brent.
P.S. Despite the hackers, you can still make a decent income online.
It boils down to protecting your sites and controlling your traffic.
You control your traffic by having a good email list and getting subscribers from reliable sources.
There are two ways to keep your email list clean.
One is to use LeadsLeap for all your online activity because their autoresponder monitors all the subscribers across the platform and limits your ability to send to addresses that don't respond.
The other is using ClickMagick for all your links because they have an excellent traffic quality tool built in.
Send all your traffic through ClickMagick to LeadsLeap, and you're covered.
You can find out more about both platforms here https://go.wm-tips.com/llhome and here https://clickmagick.com/go/Burtm10.
