A minor mishap.
"Sh*t", I said as I dried myself after my swim.
I had just discovered my car key in my bathers pocket.
It had better work, I thought, because my phone was locked in the car.
I'm now released from parole and no longer have to attend the thrice-weekly parole meetings in the gym and pool for therapy.
However, I do have to maintain the exercise routine to get back to full strength.
That's why I was swimming today.
My first swim at this pool.
It was crowded with school kids.
The lockers were out of bounds, so I couldn't put everything in one.
The combination of uncertainty, newness, and my ongoing slight cognitive limitations resulted in my simple mistake.
I think it will all be OK because the key worked, and I drove home fine.
The next week will tell the story.
What this incident highlighted for me is that my focus isn't back to my best.
I have noticed it with what I'm doing online.
It takes me quite a bit longer to get stuff done because I'm even more easily distracted than before my crash.
I've often said that it takes a fraction of a second to change your life forever.
That fraction of a second could be the time it takes to click a link.
Time how long it takes to click this link.
