Digital products vs Physical products.
I read a most enlightening PDF today about supermarkets' current lack of items and people's issues with getting houses built or getting their cars fixed.
The argument seems to be that there are real problems in getting stock, materials and parts.
The cause of these issues is that the supply chain created over the last 30 years is so complex and fragile that any disruption in any part of it creates a knock-on effect through the rest of it.
One part of this, in the USA, is that the Port of Los Angeles has 540,000 containers waiting in the harbour.
Working as hard and fast as they can, the Port can only unload 18,000 containers a day.
29,000 containers arrive every day.
The chances of unloading all those ships are remote, mainly because there is currently no space to stack more containers.
Some of the stock in those containers will not be needed when they are unloaded and delivered.
Not too many people will want to buy Christmas specific items in March.
Some of those items will be out of fashion.
Even drop-shipping will become impossible because the manufacturers won't be able to get components or deliver their products.
Do you know what products will still be saleable?
Digital products.
You might not be able to get that new computer, but you will be able to get that new eBook or video course.
Yay, for digital marketers, we'll still be in business because we can't run out of stock or have our deliveries stopped at the wharf.
Regards,
Brent.
P.S. There is no better time to be selling digital products than right now, and it'll only get better over the next couple of years.
Fulfilled by Amazon?
Not likely, they won't be able to get stock either.
Buy a new Tesla?
There won't be components for the electronics.
A new iPhone?
They source parts from 43 different countries any one of those having a problem prevents manufacture.
Nothing stops you from writing books and selling on Kindle or any other marketplace you can find.
Nothing stops you from creating and delivering an email course.
Nothing stops you from creating a YouTube channel and uploading as often as you like.
Nothing, except you.
There are tools that will help you do any of these things.
All it takes is committing to getting it done.
Here's one thing you can do in the next 24 hours to have a digital product available for sale, https://go.wm-tips.com/24hours.
And it can sell daily from the day you publish it because the buyers traffic is built in.
