🎥 A little video trick for you. 💻
How to capture any video, with audio, as fast as possible.
I spent quite a bit of today copying videos to my external drive.
These particular videos are hosted in such a way that that none of the download tools worked.
That handicap doesn't stop me getting a copy of any video.

I use Camtasia, http://link.wm-tips.com/cam, for this work because I have it and it works brilliantly.
You can probably do this with other tools.
I don't know because I haven't tried them.

So, the process is simple.
Start Camtasia.
Click to record the video you want.
Set the area to record.
Make sure you have system audio on for recording.
Start the recording and watch the video as you go.
When it's done, you can clean up your recording and export to a local file.
Job completed.
All good, but what if you have many videos to copy, and all of them are over an hour-long?
Sitting watching 10 hours of video isn't a lot of fun in one sitting.
You can't do anything else with your computer while you record, so it is limiting.
But, there is a solution to speed this up.
Record the video at 2 x the speed.
You probably can't listen to it at this speed, but you might be able to.
Anyway, when recording has finished set the speed in Camtasia at 0.5 speed.
There is a drop-in tool in the Audio part of the media.
Then export as usual, and you have the video at normal speed, but you have recorded it in half the time.

P.S. This is how I collect video sales letters into a swipe file just like the old-time copywriters did with their paper swipe files.
The idea of a swipe file is that you collect those headlines and sales copy that you like and you think work.
You can then go through them when you're looking for inspiration for your next sales letter.

A swipe file is all very well, and you should have one.
On its own though, a swipe file is of little use.
You need to be able to be creative with the information contained in the file.
To take full advantage, you need to be able to write persuasively as well.
